Help With Quick Searches on the DPC Site

The New York Public Library offers two ways to conduct searches for images: Keyword Quick Search (available on every page within the DPC site) and our dedicated Advanced Search page. We also offer free research assistance if you'd like additional help finding the images you need. Contact the NYPL Digital Picture Collection for information.

Quick Search

The Quick Image Search is the easiest place to start searching for images. Here's a quick overview of how to use this feature, available to you on every page within this site. To perform a Quick Image Search for downloadable images:

1. Enter the keyword(s) for the type of image you're searching for or the image number(s) for a specific image or images.
2. Click 'Begin search' and you'll be taken to a Search Results page where you can view images.

If you find that you receive no results, that your results are unsatisfactory, or that you've received too many results, you may want to read further for information on using Keywords to your best advantage.
